Bright and happy

Emily wanted her daughter's room to be bright and happy. The walls in the room were a faded lilac colour which made the room feel small and drab. So, when it was time to move out of the cot and into a big girl bed, it seemed like the perfect time to breathe some new life into her daughter's room.

Emily started with the colourful mat and from there the colours more or less chose themselves. The dusty pink and muted yellow of Resene Boutique and Resene Gin Fizz provided the perfect backdrop for a few fun colours, Resene Wild Thing and Resene Smitten, and accessories. The room is decorated with mostly upcycled bargain items (including the $20 bed!). The trims, joinery and furniture are in Resene Alabaster.

It has been a slow project as Emily has done most of the work herself (with a helping hand from her mum who made the curtains and lovely crochet items).

This is Emily's first attempt to decorate a whole room and she is so pleased with it - it is bright, fun and most importantly, her daughter loves it.
