A room of treasures

The walls are Resene Jet Stream with window sills in white gloss.

The sisal rug with the geometric design has been hand painted using Resene Zinger and Resene Wine Berry.

The small picture of a sparrow is a distinctive nod to an Elam tutor Michael Parekowhai. Resene Clockwork Orange is used as the background. This picture provides inspiration while saving to obtain the real thing, which is far more impressive.

The room is filled with other treasures - a copy of a classic sailor’s back tattoo, a small photo of grandad on a bush walk, a picture from the very talented illustrator Alex Petrovic in a rust style frame from days spent picture framing at El Framo, and a drawing of a schooner from some years ago. The glass bowl, with macrame rope, and fly catching pitcher plant is a gift from a very talented friend.

It’s a room meant for enjoyment and filled with much artistic love.
