What attracted the Petzer family to this cosy home was the high vaulted ceilings in the living area and the large windows and doors, opening to the garden. This allows lots of natural light and views to the trees outside.
They were inspired by this when looking at transforming the neutral space into a tranquil living area. They chose to paint their living space in Resene Beryl Green from the Karen Walker Paints range.
The green has a brightness to it which sits well with multiple tones and reflects the shades from outside. As most furnishings are in greys and whites, the green provides a soft background colour that lifts the space. Adding accessories with tones of blush and gold, provides contrasting colour and breaks up the neutral tones.
The home has an open living area and by painting the living room it feels as if it has created a separate and individual space. Choosing the right paint colour was important as it sets the overall tone and mood of the room.
They felt it was essential to tie their wall paint colour and accessories together, as well as bring in the inspiration from outside. Choosing an artwork piece that carried all the colours from the colour scheme, including the botanical theme, helped bring it all together. They couldn’t be happier with their new space and paint colour.
