Good things take time

It took nearly three years from the time the Byrne family bought a section until they were able to move to their new home. Designing the house took a year - but now they’ve moved in, they're not regretting a single minute spent on the design. There is nothing they would change in the house.

The house was built using insulated concrete blocks which enable the interior to remain at a roughly constant temperature throughout the year of about 18-20 degrees without any heating or cooling. It took a long time to choose the interior finishes in the house, but their patience has resulted in a colour scheme they are delighted with.

Resene Soothe has been painted for feature walls complemented by Resene Half Sea Fog throughout the home and Resene Alabaster for the doors and door trim. Natural wood architraves are varnished with Resene Aquaclear. Their son’s room has a handy magnetic board made using Resene Magnetic Magic paint. For added features, four wallpapers from the Resene Wallpaper Collection complete the look.

The Bryne family found staff in their local Resene ColorShops were fantastic in helping choose the paint colours and the many hours spent poring over the wallpaper options.
