How to make a potato print

Create with paint! Projects from habitat by Resene

Potato printing for adults

print your own wrapping material

Remember potato printing? Turns out it’s not just for the kids. We love this printing idea, creating a geometric pattern using the humble potato. We’ve printed ours onto linen to wrap around pot plants, a simple yet thoughtful gift that friends and family will love.

You will need: Potato and knife, paint tray, linen or calico, scissors and twine, Resene testpot in your choice of colour: we used Resene Wimbledon.

Top tip: Try cutting other shapes out of potatoes for your prints. Vary the Resene colours and colour combinations to get a variety of finished effects.
