Handy hints: Ensure you choose the correct roller sleeve for the surface you’re painting – if in doubt check with Resene ColorShop staff. For safety reasons, any cloths impregnated with Resene Danska Teak Oil should be rinsed with detergent and water before being discarded.

Top tip: Masking any bare woodwork with masking tape and newspaper will protect the wood from any paint drips when you’re painting the ceiling and walls.

To get the look: To get a high gloss finish, Mark varnished the floorboards with four coats of Resene Polythane.

Other ideas: Create a different paint effect on the wall by lightly stippling one colour over another with a large dry brush.
