ready to play

Auckland

Learning at the Point is based in Point Chevalier and is a not for profit organisation run by parent volunteers. The kindy is small, with 4-5 teachers caring for a group of 22 children at any given time.

The kindy is operated out of Auckland Council premises that were starting to show their age. In 2017, the kindy had the opportunity to upgrade their much dated playground and external areas with modest funds that had accumulated over many years.

Learning at the Point is based in Point Chevalier

Studio TT donated their time and worked with Playscape and a subcommittee of parent members to design and develop a new playground with the aim of bringing colour and life, and a touch of nature into the learning environment – a space to foster creativity and spark imagination in fresh young minds – and an uplifting and inviting asset for the community to embrace and take great pride in. The joy and delight on the children’s faces every day is indication that these goals were achieved.

The old ramp and balusters were brown that brought no joy to anybody. It had been there for many many years and was looking drab and tired. The street appeal of the kindergarten left much to be desired and was crying out for colour. Now fresh accents of colour using Resene Lumbersider in Resene Good Life, Resene Fountain Blue, Resene Half Tapa, Resene Wild Thing and Resene West Side welcome all visitors.
