Inject a bit of colour into a plain set of wardrobe doors with a little bit of help from Resene.

Weekend DIY with Mark Rayner - Project 78

Difficulty level:  Moderate

You will need

To get the look:  Mark painted the surrounding wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Baltic Sea.

Other ideas:  For a bright green fun feature, paint the doors with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Wellywood.

How to paint wardrobe doors

 
Step 1 Step one
Remove the door handles and lightly sand the doors to ‘key’ the surface.
Step 2 Step two
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step 3 Step three
Carefully stir the Resene Quick Dry.
Step 4 Step four
Cut in around the edges of the doors using Resene Quick Dry.
Step 5 Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the front of the doors using a roller and allow to dry.
Step 6 Step six
Carefully stir the Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Gorse.
Step 7 Step seven
Cut in around the edges of the doors using Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Gorse.
Step 8 Step eight
Apply one coat of Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Gorse to the front of the doors using a roller and allow to dry. Apply a second coat of Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Gorse to the doors. Once dry, replace the handles.
