Resene Sandtex - Mediterranean effect Commonly used in both exterior and interior applications. Resene Sandtex is ideal for use when disguising surface imperfections, however the texture is too fine for use as a monolithic finish over beveled edge fibre cement. Resene Sandtex may be applied by roller, spray or brush. A popular brush application method is to crows foot the coating, applying it by wide brush in a criss cross pattern to give a tactile brushed Mediterranean look. Resene Sandtex should always be used with a basecoat of Resene Lumbersider (see Data Sheet D34) tinted to the Resene Sandtex topcoat colour to ensure uniformity of the finish. Some applicators may find it easier to apply a fine coat of Resene Sandtex so that the subsequent coat of Resene Sandtex will have something to grip onto. Resene Sandtex Standard and Superfine are available in most colours from the Resene Total Colour System - minimum batch size may apply for some colours.
