When pigs fly? Auckland City Cow Parade
From the What's New archive...

The Resene Rainbow Cow is coated in a myriad of colours to get her looking her best in the Auckland Cow Parade. We've all heard of pigs flying, but have you heard of a cow parade? The Cow Parade has come to Auckland City in early 2003, complete with a herd of 60 life-sized fibreglass cows all handpainted by a collection of artists using Resene paint.

Each cow is adopted then painted in a choice of designs from selected artists.

Completed cows will be displayed around central Auckland in 'herds'. The Cow Parade comes complete with a Cow Barn and Cow Hospital as well as Cow Security!!

If you're out and about in Auckland City, check out the Cow Parade. As the 'Official Cow Parade Paint Supplier', the Resene Rainbow Cow is part of the first herd and can be seen grazing at Te Whero Island.

The Cow Parade concept has been used in other countries around the world to draw attention to urban centres. Auckland Heart of the City are using it to draw traffic into the central city in combination with the America's Cup activity.

So, next time you see a cow in your neighbourhood, you may just find it liberally coated in Resene!
