Background to mural creation:
They created a new team in their school. The team was named the Kokako team. The children chose the name for their team. They researched the Kokako and decided that its characteristics were similar to theirs. They used this mural to ‘brand’ their new team. They also created a logo, song, dance and calendar. The name of the class is Kauri, hence the other ‘Kauri’ mural.
