Background to mural creation:
Haast School worked with the Department of Conservation and community. The wall faces the playground and was rotting so had to be replaced. The children designed and painted the mural with the aim of wanting everyone who visits or drives past the school to think WOW - what a great place Haast is, capturing the unique biodiversity with a mural featuring close-ups (circles) of particular species.
