Zing thing
The Rimu spiral case, fireplace on angle, two large bay windows and third wall open plan in Nadine's south facing room/lounge tended to make the room look bitsy. The addition of new curtains, blinds, sofas and deep red walls has warmed the room and unified it to make it feel snug.

A Deep red colour warms this lounge

Resene Shiraz was the third colour they tried over a fortnight. The first colour selected was a cream, the second a mushroom, but both looked drab against the adjoining dining room. Nadine's 14 year old daughter suggested the red after seeing Nadine wear a red waistcoat glowing in the Resene Golden Glow room. Originally not a lover of red, Nadine thinks the Resene Shiraz works brilliantly with her home. Warm during the day - it glows in evening lights. The Resene Shiraz and Resene Golden Glow also work well with the Rimu joinery and white ceiling and window frames.

Nadine recommends that when selecting colour it is best to paint a large (A1 minimum) sheet with your chosen colour, then move it frequently around the room to see how it looks against furnishings and in different lights. It will 'zing' if it's for you.
