Red brick begone
Brickwork painted in Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Linen and the windows in Resene SharkMany homeowners with red brick clad homes assume that they are stuck with the red brick look for their home exterior. Lloyd has tested this assumption and proven it wrong with a rejuvenation of his family's brick house including painting the brickwork in Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Linen and the windows in Resene Shark.

With the house spruced up, attention was turned to the concrete steps, bringing them back to life with Resene Concrete Stain in New Brick, both full strength and a diluted version. By using the two strengths Lloyd was able to apply a light wash effect that helped to disguise any imperfections in the concrete work.

Extending the painting even further, the handrail was painted grey and a frost adhesive was applied to the glass garage door providing privacy but still allowing light into the basement. The brick sills were glazed to bring out the colour to match the terracotta roof tiles and add the finishing touch to what is a very complete and satisfying exterior rejuvenation.
