Denise
has found the perfect way to brighten up the backyard - create
your own artwork and place it strategically around the garden.
The garden art varies from garden poles to single board paintings,
each effective for their striking use of colour.
All of the garden art has been sealed with 2-3 coats of Resene
Wood Primer or 2 sometimes 3 coats of Resene Acrylic Primer Undercoat
followed by topcoats of Lumbersider. Favourite and most commonly
used colours are: Resene Turbo, Resene Nero, Resene Resolution
Blue and Resene Endeavour.
A large painting features a local Whakatane scene of Whale Island
with White Island in the background. A simpler turtle painting
is a favourite and suits a pond or water feature garden.
The garden poles are predominantly finished in Resene Lumbersider
Prairie Sand. Originally focusing on more subtle colours to give
the artwork more variety, Denise has evolved her work into brighter
hues with more elaborate designs.
How she came to paint with Resene paints is simple really - she
was asked to paint an outside painting for a garden and as they'd
painted the house totally in Resene undercoats/paints it seemed
logical to use the paints they already had. The resulting painting
was featured in Alfresco magazine. The colours are vibrant - bright
and of top quality - highly important as the local weather conditions
are varied and having put all the effort into painting one needs
real great quality paints. The painting has also gone inside with
Denise creating some interior artworks for inside the house with
Resene paints to match her outdoor artistry.
