This grand old Villa built in 1895 has had a complete renovation
and has been re-piled, re-roofed, re-plumbed, re-wired, re-lined,
insulated and redecorated.
The house is large and tall with a 4.3m stud. The focus was on
lighter tones to complement the traditional Rimu woodwork and
ensure an airy feel in the kitchen and living areas. The high
stud enabled the installation of traditional elaborate plaster
cornice work, suitably fitting for this grand old lady.

A delightful palette
of Resene neutrals provides a light and airy atmosphere with touches
of colour to bring personality and life. Resene Half Akaroa adorns
the kitchen, joined by Resene Half Sisal in the TV room, Resene
Triple Spanish White in the hall, Resene Quarter Pavlova walls
and Resene Quarter Pavlova below dado in the foyer, Resene Burnt
Crimson walls and Resene Alabaster ceiling in the dining room,
Resene Half Green Spring in the library, Resene Half Canterbury
Clay walls and Resene Quarter Canterbury Clay cornices in the
master bedroom and Resene Triple Spanish White in the bathroom.

There are still three rooms to finish on the inside, and then
of course there is the exterior to tackle one day.
Thanks to Sandie and Tony Langridge of Wairarapa.
