Two year old Bastion was ready for his own room. He had a new
red Ferrari bed and a collection of paintings lovingly created
by his mum, so all that was needed was to paint the spare room
with a theme of Wildcars and X-Men. Bastion's name was chosen
from a X-Men comic, so the room theme is particularly fitting.
Mum Caroline had previously done an exhibition with a Wildcars
theme and working off that knowledge, she wanted the walls to
be three walls green - Resene Wasabi - and one wall of a contrasting
colour, which eventually ended up being Resene Jellybean. Windows,
doors and trim complete the look in Resene Lustacryl semi-gloss
waterborne enamel in white topped up with Resene Ceiling White
on the ceiling and titanium silver blinds.
A plain bookshelf was brought back to life with Resene Wasabi.
Bastion's table and chairs were also given a fresh coat of paint
with Resene Nero base colour and Resene Blackcurrant flames. A
set of Wildkoru paintings are in the entranceway, each created
using Resene testpots of Resene Midnight Express, Resene Nero,
Resene Wasabi and Resene Sambuca.
Bastion loves playing in his new room and Caroline's Wildcars
artwork finally has a place it can call home.
