Home again

After living abroad for 8 years, the Rutherford family returned home and bought their dream house, a relocated 480 square metre villa on a lifestyle block. Although the house had been renovated and was in excellent condition, the interior colour scheme was not to their taste, so they started the major task of repainting most of the rooms.

Their first project was the 35 metre long hallway with 15 ft studs. Quite a challeng but with a fantastic result. They used Resene Zylone Sheen tinted to Resene Half Truffle on the walls and Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Black White on the surrounds, complementing the ornate ceilings and chandeliers beautifully while also radiating a feeling of warmth.

The colour scheme was continued into the master bedroom with a strengthening of the wall colour to Resene Truffle. This was no mean feat as the room is very generous at around 80 square metres with a 15 ft stud. With the new curtains as well as the fabulous paintwork the space is now a truly beautiful room with the colours of the walls radiating a feeling of warmth on colder days and coolness on hot days.

In the living areas the colour palette is focused on Resene Quarter Ash for a subtle neutral effect. And after the last areas are finished, they can sit back, relax and enjoy the new look.
