The Architecture for Humanity - Auckland Chapter found a great
way to beat the often lamented wet Auckland weather for Architecture
Week. They gathered together old lost umbrellas, fixed them up
and painted the fabric using Environmental Choice approved Resene
Lustacryl semi-gloss waterborne enamel tinted to Resene Japanese
Laurel. The Resene Lustacryl has worked so well on the umbrellas
that most people don't realise they are painted.

The umbrellas were housed in special umbrella stands and Aucklanders
were encouraged to take the umbrellas when they needed them and
return them to the umbrella stands ready for the next Aucklander
who had to make a mad dash through the rain.
