Mural Masterpieces - Belmont Intermediate SchoolAn entry from Belmont Intermediate School in the Resene Mural Masterpieces competition 2015

Location:
Belmont Intermediate School, Winscombe Ave, Takapuna, Auckland.

Team:
Abi Barnard, Amy Ireland, Ella Madsen-Brough, Tom Christie, Lauren Towns, Daisy Eaglesome, Ciara Allpress and Stella Stiven.

Accessible to public:
Yes, side of room 12.

Mural theme:
Four house teams.

Background to mural creation:
This mural was created to enhance a new area in the school that students have built seats for. The mural is special to the school and its ‘houses’ – ‘Brett’, ‘Tiri’. ‘Pencarrow’ and ‘Cuvier’. Every student belongs to one of the houses. Each mural has the first letter as the shape, the actual lighthouse painted (true to real lighthouses) and uses only limited colours of that house. This is all the work of the students. Brett = Blue, Pencarrow = Red, Tiri = Yellow and Cuvier = Green.
