Background to mural creation:
Children at Riverina School have transformed the entrance to the Room 6-9 classroom block into a colourful display of native New Zealand birds. The murals were designed to enhance and beautify this area of the school and highlight the school's close environmental links with the bordering Tamaki Estuary. Children with special art ability were involved in the planning, design, development and presentation of a creative art mural project integrated with a wider school theme of 'Flying Friends'.
