Background to mural creation:
The tamariki of Trentham School have been learning about where their ancestors came from – Toku Pepeha. The Pepeha pays homage to the mana whenua – Te Atiawa. The mural shows the land, river and iwi that connects over the school in this community. This is their place of standing – Toku Turangawaewae.
