Background to mural creation:
Mrs Blundell and teachers chose six senior students with art talents to make up the GATE art class. Led by Kay Gilchrist, they decided to draw a bush scene with some Kereru (wood pigeons) resting on branches as they felt that reflects their surrounding area, which has a lot of bush and plenty of plump kereru feeding.
