Mural theme and background to mural creation:
The aim was simple - to beautify Carterton! It's a vibrant and engaging artwork in the centre of Carterton. It reflects the area's thriving arts community, the future of the town in its diverse young students, and the very present landscape of the area with its country town heritage.

On a practical level, it also points the way to Carterton School, the largest school in town. The figures represent the six 'trees of learning' that form the basis of the school's charter.
