paint the rainbow

From Habitat plus - kids' spaces

If you’re stuck for a place to start when it comes to choosing colours with your kids, have a look at the Resene KidzColour collection – a range of shades in every colour of the rainbow, with a few metallics for good measure.

Colour options have been tested with a range of children of all ages giving a collection that is full of bright bold, saturated colours for fun features such as Resene Glitterbug and Resene Wham and softer pastels, from soft Resene Pretty In Pink to Resene Three Wishes.

Cool effects:

  • Resene Write-on Wall Paint can be written on with whiteboard markers or liquid chalk and cleaned off with a soft cloth. It can be applied as a topcoat over any freshly painted Resene colour.

  • Resene FX Pearl Shimmer is a waterborne pearlescent glaze which creates beautiful sparkle effects, particularly over dark colours. Try it over pale pink for a soft shimmery fairy or unicorn effect.

  • Resene Magnetic Magic turns any wall into a magnetic surface, great for headboards or around study spaces.

  • Resene FX Crackle is a coating that can be applied over any colour to create a cracked surface effect. A great idea for headboards, desktops and frames!

  • Resene FX Nightlight glow-in-the-dark paint gives a fun night-time lift. It works best over a white painted base and is perfect for creating a ceiling full of shining stars.

A teen's bedroom

In this teen's bedroom, Resene Eskimo walls were masked off in a cool mountain pattern before the bottom portion of the walls and floor were painted Resene Prussian Blue.

Soothing green room

Resene Middle Earth was used to create a triangle shelf feature on Resene Black White walls in this unique and contemporary room. The floor is in Resene Yucca and the pencil pot and frame are in Resene Permanent Green.
