Neutral walls can provide an ideal backdrop for more colourful accents provided by boldly painted feature walls and interesting floor coverings and furnishings.

To fulfill the expectations of staff that the new American Express offices would be innovative and vibrant, the walls all feature colours from the Resene range of paints.

Resene Sea Fog was chosen as the main background colour for the walls and a variety of bold accents were chosen as an accent. The dull lime green tones of Resene Wasabi and the outrageous bright red of Resene Roadster create an interesting effect in hallways and open plan office areas.

Other Resene colours that add richness and life to this space include Resene Stonehenge, Resene Orient, Resene Roxy and Resene Oh Behave.

All the walls are finished in Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen, which is a waterborne enamel that combines durability with low odour and easy clean-up, making it ideal for interior spaces.

Being fast-drying, it is also an excellent paint to use in a furbishment when the fit-out programme is tight. The low sheen also means surface imperfections are minimised.

Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says in critical light areas, when combined with a skim coating of Resene Broadwall Surface Prep, or Resene Broadwall 3 in 1, its reduced side sheen will further minimise surface imperfections.
