It’s easy to create this handy key hanger from plywood, cup hooks and a few Resene testpots.
Weekend DIY with Mark Rayner - Project 13
Difficulty level: Moderate
You will need: 20mm piece of plywood measuring 300mm x 150mm, Cup hooks (x3), Masking tape, Paintbrushes (including artists’ brush), Pencil, Resene Multishield+ gloss (now Resene Concrete clear), Resene Quick Dry, Resene testpots in the following colours: Resene Broom, Resene Elvis and Resene Jordy Blue, Ruler, Sandpaper, Saw
Top tip: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Black White.
Other ideas: For a monochrome grey effect use Resene Rice Cake, Resene Tuna and Resene White Pointer.
Step six
Paint a large key shape, as shown, using two coats of Resene Jordy Blue. Allow two hours for each coat to dry.
