Turn a plain kitset shed into a chic grey workshop with the help of Resene Woodsman penetrating oil stain.
Ways with wood with Mark Rayner - Project 01
Difficulty level: Challenging
You will need: a large timber kitset shed (ours measured 2.4m x 4m with additional decking), concrete or H4 treated timber piles (check with shed manufacturer’s recommendations), small spade for digging piles, tools for constructing shed (check with manufacturer’s instructions), rapidset concrete (approx 1 bag for every 4 piles) and paintbrushes. Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Heather for the doors, Resene Quick Dry waterborne primer undercoat, Resene Waterborne Woodsman Penetrating Oil Stain tinted to Resene Smokey Ash for the walls, Resene Woodsman penetrating oil stain tinted to Resene Oiled Cedar for the decking.
To get the look: Paint the roof in Resene Karaka or opt for a COLORSTEEL® roof in Karaka green – this choice was available from the shed manufacturer.
Other ideas: Try hotter colours from the Resene Waterborne Woodsman Penetrating Oil Stain range - combine Resene Bamboo (walls) with Resene Embers (decking) and finish off doors with a contrasting Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Nero.
