Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 81

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Large garden rock, Resene Quick Dry waterborne primer undercoat, Resene Testpots in the following colours: Resene Alabaster, Resene Flamingo, Resene Havoc, Resene Nero, Resene Niagara and Resene Resolution Blue, Paintbrushes (including artists’ brushes)

Top tip: To give your garden critter a shiny look, finish it off with a coat of Resene Art Action glaze (gloss).

Another idea: Paint a cow

Step one
Make sure the rock is thoroughly clean before applying one coat of Resene Quick Dry. Allow to dry for two hours.

Step two
Apply two coats of Resene Niagara to the rock, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step three
Paint eyes with Resene Alabaster, an open mouth shape with Resene Nero and a tongue with Resene Flamingo. Once dry paint in the centre of each eye with Resene Resolution Blue.

Step four
Paint teeth with Resene Alabaster, pupils and eyelashes with Resene Nero, and lips with Resene Havoc. Once dry paint a highlight in each eye with Resene Alabaster. How neat is that?
