Playing with the animals

Once a second sitting area, Summer has transformed this room into a fun playroom for her daughter. They had been thinking of refurbishing it and making it more interesting and fun. Their daughter loves animals and her all time favourites are lion, monkey and giraffes – with a sprinkling of others depending on which story books she has been reading. So they decided to paint a big tree with these in the picture. She calls it ‘my special wall’ and says hello to her pals in the morning. The tree is ‘functional’ as well – it has measurements on the tree trunk to keep track of their daughter’s height.

The background colour of the feature wall is Resene Half Bianca, chosen to be a backdrop that would show off all the colours they planned to paint over it. They chose Resene Roadster as an accent colour, which was used on the bookcase, stool and part of the feature wall. As well as these two colours they also used Resene Casper, Resene Sour Dough, Resene Neva, Resene Go Go Go, Resene Dark Rum, Resene Jambalaya and Resene Sweet As.

This is now is their favourite room in the house.
