Rainbow rising

The Trenwith’s renovation started as a demolition.

They live in a 1920s bungalow, complete with an outside laundry, still with its copper wash-tub. Being an old house it has plenty of space in the roof, which they decided would make a perfect attic bedroom for their young sons. So, they pulled the copper and concrete out, removed the old laundry walls, enclosed the sunny back deck with French doors and resurrected an old spiral staircase to get up into the attic.

Resene paints are used on the walls, stairs and in the art on the wall. The walls are Resene Alabaster, the pink in the art and on the steps is Resene Smitten, the yellow step is Resene Broom, the green steps are Resene Atlantis, the blue is Resene Malibu and the purple is Resene Studio.

The magical rainbow spiral staircase is the perfect entry to a children’s room and the old laundry/back porch has now become a room they call 'The Chilling Room' - a perfect sunny spot to chill-out in.
