Pots of colour

This home renovation by the Gyde family is being done slowly and steadily, room by room. First up was their daughter’s room. With a love of ‘pretty things’ and all things pink, the aim was to make her room really colourful, pretty and bright to suit her personality, and create a place she would love spending time in. To make it really special and unique most of the decorations were handmade.

The walls were painted in Resene Black White, which was a great base and brightened the once dull room. With a limited budget, the Resene Testpots came in handy to bring a lot of colour into the room without having to buy lots of paint that wouldn’t get used. Many of the testpots are still partly full so there’s plenty of colour left to help towards future creations.

The rainbow is painted using Resene Bombshell, Resene Flamingo, Resene Frenzee, Resene Tree Frog, Resene Eastern Blue, Resene Decadence and Resene Kingfisher Daisy. The headboard is finished in Resene Triumph, Resene Lipstick and Resene Illusion. The ‘Beautiful’ sign is finished in Resene Lipstick (B), Resene Black (E + U), Resene Unicorn (F) and Resene Zomp (L). The tree is painted with Resene Cioccolato and Resene Triumph.

Their daughter loves her room and has even had friends wanting to move in as well!
