Boy's retreat

Take a neutral grey wall colour on the southern side of the house and you have a room in need of a transformation for a boy's bedroom. The Quin family wanted to introduce some colour into the room and create a bedroom that he could grow up in and a colour scheme that would suit him in years to come.

The starting point for the colour choices was the duvet cover. He was drawn towards, the Resene Havoc, both by the meaning of the name, havoc and the colour, which also complemented his duvet cover and the existing neutral grey.

The horizontal curtain fabric, introduces pattern and combines all the colours in the room.

Sophie printed her son's favourite comic book characters and bought some white frames and a mat board cutter. She cut the mat boards and fitted the frames. The white frames look effective against the red 'feature wall'.
