Colour of their own

Now that the Swift family own their own home, they wanted to make their girls' rooms personalised and fun for them, so they chose bright colours mostly from the Resene KidzColour range. They've rented homes where the walls are always white, which they found uninspiring, so they intended to do the exact opposite!

First they painted their younger daughter's bedroom which had a hideous stripy wallpaper that had a strobing effect. They painted one wall Resene Seance from the Resene BS5252 colour range and the other three walls Resene Yabbadabbadoo. Her name is linked to a mermaid they wanted to give a sea feel to her room. They also painted the knobs of her wardrobe door with Resene So Cool, a silver paint, and eventually the plan is to paint the doors with the deep blue of Resene Surfs Up and to stencil silver stars on them.

Their older daughter's name means 'of the Fae/Fairy' so they used a magical sparkly pink Resene Bedazzled for one wall and then a gorgeous soft green Resene Tutti Frutti for the other three. Next on the list is to paint her wardrobe and cupboard doors purple with Resene Dancing Girl or maybe a warm gentle yellow like Resene Shooting Star.
