Long wait

Simon and Marcelle had been dreaming up a nursery for years while having to wait for five years until finally falling pregnant. They decided to find out what flavour they were having so that they could really have some fun in doing up their spare room for the impending arrival.

They chose the colours themselves, finding inspiration from all sorts of places. They also had this great R2D2 print that they'd bought (Designer Kate Slavin) and wanted to work with it too.

They love the calmness of Resene Reservoir on the walls, and added fun and boldness with the use of Resene Wild Thing and Resene Glamour Puss, with windows and trim in Resene White. The colours work so well together and all our friends and family just love the room.

They've carried around the three colour swatches in Simon's wallet since they painted and have enjoyed finding bits and pieces to dress the room with. The merino blanket and cushion (uimi) were an uncanny gift from a friend and the throw over the chair they found online (Linen's & More).

With the arrival of their daughter they shared their Resene colours with MyCanvas.co.nz who incorporated them into the Birth Announcement print, which we think really ties the room and colours.
