Old meets new

It must be something to do with nesting and resting as while Ana awaited her second child, she wanted to create something magical for her firstborn to make an exciting transition into a new room for him. Pinterest was Ana’s friend for inspiration and the result was a burst of energy to design a room full of colour that will eventually contain his favourite flying objects - aeroplanes and birds along with his other toys.

Ana had some big problems with the paint colours originally and learnt a big lesson - always use testpots no matter how excited or confident you are! So some further trial and error resulted in a colour scheme of Resene Blue Lagoon, Resene Java and Resene Padua that Ana feel works well with the bed ends they inherited and the linen she found to work with the overall concept. Most importantly, her son loves it!

Ana is a fan of mixing old and new and upcycling and using things they have as much as possible, rather than buying new, so she teamed up some old suitcases that were in her parent's attic to tie in with the old bed ends. The pillows have been collected from here and there over the years - some from Thread Design and some from Both of Cloth.

Now it's time to start on the nursery to turn it into a little girl’s room and there are a few other areas of the house that are also on the list.
