It’s easy to create this handy plant label using a Resene paint stirrer and a few Resene testpots.
Weekend DIY with Mark Rayner – Project 85
Difficulty level: Easy
To get the look: Mark painted the plant pot with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Pink Ribbon.
Other ideas: For a green effect, paint the plant label with Resene Parsley, Resene Soft Apple and Resene Karaka.
Step one
Remove the label from the Resene paint stirrer.
Step two
Lightly sand the Resene paint stirrer.
Step three
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step four
Carefully stir the Resene Quick Dry.
Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the Resene paint stirrer and allow to dry.
Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Ballerina to the Resene paint stirrer, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step seven
Paint the plant name down the front of the Resene paint stirrer using Resene Bright Red, as shown.
Step eight
Paint a few plant leaves on the front of the Resene paint stirrer using Resene Japanese Laurel, as shown.
