Make a monster frame
Another idea: make a green monster
Top tip: After applying each colour, place your monster painting out in the sun to make the paint dry quicker.
Here's another idea: This monster portrait was painted with Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Black, Resene Japanese Laurel, Resene Malibu and Resene West Side.
Step one
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the picture frame and backing board and allow to dry.
Step two
Paint the frame and backing board with one coat of Resene Porsche and allow to dry.
Step three
Paint the frame with two coats of Resene Bullion, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step four
Paint the background with two coats of Resene Goblin, as shown, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step five
Paint a monster head and body shape on the background using Resene Bright Spark, as shown. Once this is dry, apply a second coat and allow this to dry.
Step six
Paint the mouth with Resene Bright Red and the eyes with Resene Alabaster and allow the paint to dry.
Step seven
Paint the hair and iris of each eye using Resene Cabaret and allow the paint to dry.
Step eight
Paint the remaining face details with Resene Black, as shown, and allow the paint to dry. What a monstrous masterpiece!
